Time to close the books on another fall season and another great year of Cougar baseball. Our 18U team finished strong with a 10-2 win and our best performance of the season. We went 7-7, won four of our final six games, and witnessed some great individual performances. Our spring varsity and 18U club teams combined for a 39-20 record. In all, we had more than 45 student athletes represent our Varsity, JV, 16U, and 18U teams.
Players and volunteers did a great job with our fall outreach and fundraising events. This included the Cougar baseball and basketball golf outing at Hiwan, our first annual Home Run Derby, and hosting West Jeff baseball tryouts. Great job, everyone! We also honored our two major league alumni, Brock Burke and Kevin Kouzmanoff, with all-new banners for Cougar Field.
Leading up to spring tryouts in February, we are busy with budgeting, planning, and purchasing. The team merchandise store will soon be updated with the latest collection of Cougar baseball gear, and the 2024 varsity schedule is almost complete. We’re received an invitation from the Best of the West baseball tournament which is held over spring break in Arizona.
