12.19.2020 Coach’s Message
I was saddened to hear about the passing of Paul Luebbers last Thursday. I would like to express our program’s sincere condolences and reinforce that Paul and his family are in our thoughts and hearts and that we are here to help.
As I started to type this message and reflect, I too started to tear-up. I don’t understand life but I can promise Cougar Baseball players that we play for a brand and that includes tangible support for each other, not only with baseball but during times like this and throughout life. We lost a dear friend.
I will miss Paul. He was a baseball guy. I will remember his big smile and colorful golf wear and willingness to give back to our community based competitive baseball program. PJ certainly inherited a little of that flair with his gold cleats. As a head coach, you have a unique field-of-view during games since you are on the field. Paul was normally behind home plate watching our games and no father was smiling more when the outcome exceeded our expectations. There were more than one of those occasions especially this summer and fall and I will remember Paul’s big smiles after those big walk-off hits.
Thank you Paul. God Bless you and your family.
For PJ: We love you. I’m here to help you with anything you may need.
